Hey there, all you lovely people!!!I hope your New Year has started out wonderfully and your resolutions haven't been tossed out, just yet...hahaha
Well as you all can tell it's been a while since I've posted anything NEW, here...but I've just listened to a FANTASTIC NEW artist, who I am so happy to kick off 2010's posts with.
As many of you well know, I am a huge fan of the music genre they calleth: POP!!! And now I have become a huge fan of 14-year-old singer, Kiara Rivera.
Though, I am a NEW fan of Kiara's music...Kiara isn't exactly new to the music scene. She actually started singing before she could walk...
Go Figure...
In 2004, Kiara won Radio Disney's Rock Star Competition (Think about this folks: She was only 9-years-old!!!); and went on to complete a one year contract (that didn't focus much on her music career goals). After that, she then went on to compete in other competitions throughout the years; but after disappointment after disappointment she finally realized that it wouldn't be an easy journey, achieving her dream.
It wasn't until she joined the school choir and started taking guitar lessons with guitar instructor/songwriter/producer, Michael Powell that she figured out that what she wanted to do more than anything was sing. After listening to Kiara sing(and can she ever) Michael informed singer/songwriter/voice teacher/vocal coach, Deborah Conners of Kiara's talent. Deborah then became Kiara's vocal coach, and both her and Michael went on to produce and write "Dark Days," the first song to be recorded by Kiara.
During 2008, Kiara displayed her talent and has been astounding crowds with her performances, ever since.
It's completely astonishing to me that a 14-year-old has such a voice that is so beyond belief. I am usually so disillusioned by young, up and coming vocalists because they always seem to sound exactly the same and go exactly in the same direction. And I admit...I also usually find them to be undeveloped, fame-seeking youngsters attempting to get in their 15 minutes, ya know?!? But I have to say, Kiara Rivera has definitely proved me wrong...at least...this time...hahaha
I find Kiara's NEW single, "RockStar" absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! It's got all the makings of a mega-hit pop song; with a lovely blend of Pop/Rock/Dance/with a nice R&B twist to it, as well. It's exactly the kind of toe-tapping, feel-good music that is an excellent start to the New Year!!!
Look out, because I see Great Things happening for Kiara Rivera in 2010!!!
